He literally wrote the book on loss mitigation for non-performing residential loans (NPLs) WIN WIN REVOLTION was published. Bill has invested in, managed and brokered real estate, and provided mortgage servicing consultation for major financial institutions and private equity partners since 2002. He remains a non-active partner in Retail Sites International (RSI), a 45-year-old boutique, commercial real estate advisor based in South Florida, that specializes in site selection on behalf of national retail tenants such as BJ’s Restaurant, Darden Restaurants, and Taco Bell.
In 2011, Bill joined Spurs Capital, an investment management firm focused on scratch-n-dent first lien mortgage notes. Originally in his role as a Vice President, Bill built an asset management team responsible for to $800 million of equity investments in the whole loan mortgage market. Following his promotion to Managing Director, Bill secured new institutional investment partners as well as assisting in the creation of a 3rd party loss mitigation team to manage distressed assets for several of the most prominent mortgage investment firms in the USA. Bill remains a signatory and advisor to several funds managed by Spurs but left his official role in 2020 to form First Lien Capital LP.
Mr. Bymel is a Certified Property Management Executive and member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Mortgage Bankers Association, and the National and Florida Boards of Realtors. His book, WIN WIN REVOLUTION, An Insider’s Guide to Investing in the Secondary Mortgage Market, opened on the Amazon’s Best Seller List in the Mortgage Category, when first released in Fall 2017.
Bill graduated with a B.F.A in Film Production from New York University. Prior to pursuing his career in real estate, Bill spent eight years as a Producer of theatrical motion pictures, commercials, and music videos in Los Angeles and New York.
Bill takes most pride in being a father of three as well as an active benefactor and volunteer in his community. He donates time to mentor and advocate for children of abuse or neglect, referees competitive youth soccer, and recently became an Introduction Leader for Landmark Education.
